Ghost Chili (Naga Jolokian pepper)
Also know as bhut jolokia, dorset naga, ghost chile, ghost pepper, or naga morich. In 2007, it was confirmed by the Guinness World Records to be the hottest chili in the world, replacing the red Savina. It is a naturally occurring inter-specific hybrid originating in the Assam region of northeastern India. One seed from the naga jolokia can produce sustained intense pain sensations in the mouth for up to 30 minutes before subsiding. In northeastern India, the peppers are smeared on fences or used in smoke bombs as a safety precaution to keep wild elephants at a distance.

|
In October 1991, the Mesa County Board of Health authorized the implementation of a program for recognition of licensed retail food service establishments in Mesa County which consistently maintain superior sanitation practices. To receive THE BLUE RIBBON AWARDS, retail food service establishments must provide a "full service" menu, provide seating, be open to the general public and receive no violations of a critical nature during the calendar year. Only "full service" licensed retail food service establishments that are open to the general public are considered for the Blue Ribbon Award.
During the 19th year of the recognition program, the Mesa County Board of Health recognized sixteen Mesa County retail food service establishment. Dos Hombres Clifton was on that list. We our very proud.
